Remove a Photo From Google Image Search

There are several reasons why you may want to remove a photo from the popular Google image search engine:

  1. It’s porn
  2. Someone has stolen your copyright photo/image and is displaying it on their site
  3. You just don’t like the image showing up in Google
  4. Photo shows child abuse
  5. Photo or image of your hand written signature

So lets go through the five most common types of removal request:

1) It’s Porn

Google doesn’t allow you to remove pornographic images from the unfiltered main search results. You can request that they remove such content from the filtered (moderate or strict) results though.

You have two options:

Click “report offensive images” at the bottom of the search results page.

or

Use the Google removal tool, input the url and select “inappropriate content appears in our Safesearch filtered results”

Remember, this option in the tool only removes content from the Safesearch filtered results.

2) Someone Has Stolen Your Copyright work

I have already created a page that deals with copyright infringements and how to remove links from Google.

You need the DMCA Google page.

3) You Just Don’t Like The Image Showing up in Google

If you see an image that you just don’t like then your best bet is to contact the site owner and ask him/her to remove it from the website. Not just from the page, but from the whole site (removed from the server). You can then use Google’s removal tool to expedite the removal process. Always ask the site owner to remove the page and leave behind a 404 (page not found error), if they put a redirect in place you may have problems using the tool.

4) Abuse of Children

Here is the official Google page where you can report child abuse photos that appear in the search results:

5) Remove Image of Hand Written Signature

Google doesn’t care, they removed the “Report offensive Images” link, right now there is no way to report non aproppriate images from the search results, you wan type “three” on the image search results with the strict filter ON and there will be a couple adult images.

      Hi,

You will need to contact all the websites that are displaying your photos and get them to remove them. Google will then update the search results after they have seen the changes, this may take a week or so. If you cannot remove the photos from the websites then I do not see how they can be removed from Google.

Doing a search on Google Images for your name brings up photos from http://seenive.com. The FAQs is here http://seenive.com/faq try the fourth and fifth questions…it would seem you need to remove the photos/vids from an app called Vine which is where Seenive gets the photos from. Contacting Vine and asking them to remove everything and close the account would also do the trick. Once you have done that, contact Seenive and ask them to take down the photos and your account http://seenive.com/contact once everything is off Vine and Seenive, Google will automatically update the search results after a week or so (sometimes a bit longer)
