About

Thank you for visiting my website.

My name is Daniel and I created this website to try and help those who are looking to remove sensitive or unpleasant search results. I intend to expand the content over time but at the moment I am going to focus on the Google search engine as they are by far the most popular.

Most of the information here can be found elsewhere but it can be frustrating digging through page after page of small print, or even worse through technical soup.

I have created several “how to” videos and also tried to keep things simple with clear explanations.

If my site has helped you, then great! But if it hasn’t then I want to know about it. You can leave a comment after any page on this site.

I do not offer 1-1 support as I have other obligations but feel free to leave a comment or visit one of the official Google forums for additional help with Google issues.

I also own the Quotation Check website which offers advice to consumers on topics such as price guides for roof repair work

My name keeps coming up on google searches connected to particular sites. The web master said he can’t do anything on his side (or refuses to), or just doesn’t write me back. With a couple of them, the actual page is no longer….just a general http://www.nameofsite.com, without my info on it…but it still comes up on google search. I have unsubscribed from the site. Google keeps denying to remove it. I don’t know what else to do. I want my name off of Google search and what is written underneath it. Its not something necessarily offensive, I just want my privacy.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,

Sounds like the webmaster isn’t cooperating which doesn’t help.

If you are trying to remove a name from the snippet of text that appears beneath a search result, you would first need to get the name removed from the original web page OR get the entire page taken down from the web. By “taken down” I mean get a 404 page not found error.

Only then can you request a removal from the removal tool – https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/removals

You need to enter the url of the web page and not the search result page into the tool. You should then be given a choice of options.

If you are prompted to enter the keywords that no longer appear on the page then you must not enter a word that appears anywhere on the page. If your name is “John Doe” and you enter those words into the tool, then neither must not appear anywhere on the page.

You wrote – “Google keeps denying to remove it.”

If the tool denies your request it should give you a reason why. Can you go back to the tool and tell me what response you got from your previous request?

The most common reasons for a denial are

    1) You entered a word that still appears on the page
    2) You requested a removal because the page is dead but when Google checked, they didn’t find a 404 error page.

    Hi,

A friend has had images from her Facebook profile doctored and superimposed onto graphic and violent pornographic images which now appear in a Google image search when you enter her name. The images are hosted on a now defunct porn site and are supported in their Google ranking by a blogger blogspot linking to all of the images and essentially containing only language for search engines.

There is no way of identifying the blogger and from what I can see we may struggle to get Google/Blogger to remove urls/images/blogs.

Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

    Dear Daniel,

My friend posted a reputation damaging video on U-Tube with a storyline on me about a year ago. It just came to my attention about a month ago.

So, I had a talk with him and then he removed the video from U-Tube a month ago, but I am still finding video search results and thumbnail images on web-sites like Google and Yahoo. My friend told me it would take about a month for all these thumbnail images to disappear, but they are still there in website and they also all come up during search:

Since I am not as internet saavy, can you please remove all these sites for a fee or refer me to someone/some company who can provide this kind of service for a fee for me?

Your help will be much appreciated.

    Tiger
